The pears ripen to yellow with a red blush and smooth grit free juicy flesh that has an unusual tart sweet taste for a pear in late summer. Grows best in full sun and moist well drained soils. Tenn is a heavy producer with a tendency toward bi annual bearing, so if annual crops are desired thinning the tree early in 'on' years is important.
